Stoughton to Redvers 106km (2906km total).
After breakfast with Bruce and Carol when I learnt a bit more about farming in the area I left Stoughton and turned onto the Red Coat Trail heading east. Sadly the wind direction had changed overnight and it no longer blew me along. I dipped off the road at Forget but the Happy Nun Cafe I had heard about was closed. I did find a large wooden church that was locked and a tiny little chapel that wasn't and quite remarkably decorated inside.
I stopped in Carlyle for lunch and managed to fall off my bike!! I am not sure what happened I was trying to cross an intersection of dirt roads with potholes and then I was on the ground still clipped in on one side. Fortunately it was low speed and no-one ran over me.
I made it to Redvers to camp for the night, in time for some Saskatoon berry pie and ice cream before the campground cabin closed for the night and the lady told me that Robin Williams had passed away.
You really are having a run of bad luck with eateries!
ReplyDeleteI looooove Saskatoon berries! They are so hard to find out year. The last time I bought some was a few years ago on the island! The make the best jam, without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteThis post made me laugh out loud. So glad you didn't get run over! Haha
